Petty Elliott
Indonesian author and chef, based in the UK, Petty Pandean Elliott has pioneered a modern approach to Indonesian culinary traditions over the last 15 years. Her early career was as a food journalist and critic for several leading publications in Indonesia alongside contributions to a number of international magazines. Her columnist credits include ‘Colours’ the onboard publication of Garuda, Indonesia’s national airline, the ‘Four Seasons’ magazine of the international hotel group, the ‘Jakarta Globe’ a national English language newspaper, ‘Now Jakarta’ entertainment monthly and ‘Wanderlust’ the UK travel magazine Petty served as judge for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants and the World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2016 & 2017. She was featured in Where Chefs Eat published in 2010 by PHAIDON and was listed as one Indonesia’s most powerful women by The Peak magazine in 2015.
Petty relocated to UK in 2018, making guest chef appearances at leading establishments in UK, Asia, and Europe as well as pop up restaurant events. She was executive chef at Nihi, the acclaimed resort on Sumba Island. Back in UK she has been guest chef and speaker for a series of events in conjunction with the annual Orchid Festival at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew. She has also featured at FT Weekend Summer Festival at Kenwood House, London.
Most recent assignments were as guest chef at the luxurious Soneva Kiri resort (Ko Kut Island, Thailand) and Aman Jiwo resort (Central Java, Indonesia). She was selected to create a special menu and cooked for the spouses of the G20 leaders at the Bali conference in 2022.
Her international debut cookbook, The Indonesian Table will be published By PHAIDON on 7th April in UK, and on 12th April for USA and the rest of the world.
